What this website collects

The website is a published collection of static pages. Reading it does not require an account and does not involve any form of registration. The website itself sets no cookies and does not run analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts.

The search function runs entirely in your browser. Your search terms are not sent to us.

The front-page date is calculated by your browser from your device's clock and is not transmitted anywhere.

Fonts are served from this website's own domain. No third-party font service is contacted.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to The Public Interest Briefing, the email address you provide, the date of the request, and the country from which it was made are stored in a database held on Cloudflare, the publication's hosting provider. The address is used only to send you the newsletter and is not shared with anyone else. To be removed, write to the addresses on the contact page. If a separate mailing service is adopted to send the newsletter, this section will be updated to name it.

Contact form and correspondence

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject, and message you provide, together with the date and the country from which the form was sent, are stored in a database held on Cloudflare, the publication's hosting provider, and used only to respond to you.

Hosting

This website is served by Cloudflare. Like any hosting provider, Cloudflare may record technical information about requests, such as the network address from which a page was requested, the page requested, and the time of the request, for security and operation. Cloudflare's own privacy policy governs that processing. The publication does not use this information to identify readers.

Links to other websites

Curated notes and articles link to documents published elsewhere. Those websites have their own privacy practices, for which we are not responsible.

Your rights

You may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its use, subject to applicable law. Requests should be sent to the addresses on the contact page.

Changes

This policy will be updated if the website's data practices change. The date of the last revision will be shown here.

Note for the Center: this policy describes the website as built. Before launch it requires legal review for compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and any other applicable law.
